What Focus Really Looks Like (And Why You’re Probably Overcomplicating It)

You’re not scattered. You’re just overloaded.

That’s a big difference, and one most people overlook.

When clients come to me saying, "I just need time to focus," what they usually mean is:

"I don’t know how to move forward."

Because let’s face it: you’ve tried to get organised.

  • Colour-coded Notion dashboards
  • Bullet journals
  • 17 different Chrome tabs titled "Plan"

Sound familiar? But focus isn’t about pausing things. It’s about doing more efficiently. It’s about doing with purpose & accountability, not dropping things with the idea that the ‘extra time’ will miraculously produce action. Because it doesn’t. It just gets absorbed into the day to day, and nothing changes.

You press pause on stuff to ‘get things done’, and end up doing nothing different.

Why You Feel Unfocused

You’ve been told success looks like momentum, action, visibility. Doing. Lots & lots of DOING.

So you keep showing up. But you’re spread thin, second-guessing every next move, and wondering why it still feels heavy. You are probably beating yourself up about not ‘doing stuff’. Trust me, I hear this all the time – ‘I haven’t implemented what we talked about two months ago’, ‘I need to revisit our conversation from our last session’, ‘I haven’t done what you talked about in our follow up call’.

Guess what?

I’m not judging you. I’m not nagging you, and I’m certainly not seeing you as a ‘failure’. Life gets in the way. Stuff happens. Things change.

The problem isn’t you. It’s the pressure to juggle too much without dropping anything.

What Real Focus Looks Like

It looks like:

  • Saying no to that tempting but distracting idea
  • Having someone in your corner who gets it, and gets that sometimes, keeping all the plates spinning is just bloody difficult.
  • Having a regular space to get direction, support & advice to keep moving forward.

One step at a time.

Focus is quiet. It’s grounded. It’s sustainable.

And that’s exactly what I give you with my Focus Support plan. One check-in. One step forward. No overwhelm. No noise. Just regular support via email to keep you on track when you feel like it’s all a bit too much, or when ‘regular’ coaching just isn’t a viable option for you right now.
