It take a village to build a town – why I’m going back to my 4N roots

It take a village to build a town – why I’m going back to my 4N roots

If you are a regular reader of my blogs (& if you are, I thank you), you’ll know that networking has been a HUGE part of my business life & development over the past 12 years.

For all of that time (well OK, not quite – I did have a tantrum and stomped off in a mood for six months in there – I wrote a different blog about that), I’ve been part of 4Networking as a member, and as a team member, working my way up in the organisation to running 26 face to face groups as a Regional Leader for The ‘Shire before lockdown & Covid threw it all to shit.

I got stuck into online networking, reshaped and realigned my business, got my big girl pants and cape straightened up and cracked on with running my business.

I loved it.

I loved working from home, not spending half my life in the car, and not seeing hundreds of my hard-earned pounds going into the petrol tank every month too.

I fully embraced the online networking opportunity & it was, and still is, a huge part of how I market and grow my business.

I did, however, resist any calls to get back into face to face networking when that started to come back.

The chairman of 4N sat at my kitchen table and asked me if I would come back and run F2F meetings

I said no.

The network driver of 4N called me up and asked me if I would come back and run F2F meetings.

I said no.

That same network driver then bought the organisation and became it’s new Managing Director in August 2022. I still said no.

And then, last month, I said yes.

You might think I have crumbled under the pressure of being asked. I didn’t.

You might think, like my husband, that I’ve lost my mind. I haven’t.

You might also think, and you’d be justified in doing so, what on earth are you doing that for??

The answer is simple.

I went to a face to face networking meeting in October 2022 with Caroline, and it was only the second face to face meeting I had been to since 2019. The first one was up in Leeds in the summer of 2022, but that turned into something completely different that is a whole other blog in the future….

I didn’t particularly enjoy that summer meeting.

But, oh boy, did I LOVE that evening meeting in October! The energy in the organisation was back, then energy in the room was back, the buzz was back! All the things I loved about my network were right there in that room. It was fabulous.

It’s the right time to bring that buzz back to my local business community. And that time is January 2023, on the 18th at 10am.

I’m bringing face to face networking back to Newark & I’d love you to be part of it. Come & join me?
