Dear Business… We Need to Talk

Dear Business… We Need to Talk

Sheena Whyatt·31 May 2025

Dear Business,

I love you. I really do. But lately… you’ve been a bit of a handful.

You keep me up at night. You change your mind daily. You demand my time, my energy, my weekends, and my best Canva ideas—and then you ghost me when I try to launch something new.

Honestly? If you were a person, I’d be questioning this relationship.

But here’s the thing: I know there’s still something here. You’re mine. And with a bit of honest chat and some clearer boundaries, I reckon we can make it work.

So here’s what I need to say…

  1. You’re Not the Boss of Me Somewhere along the way, I let you take over. But it’s time I remembered that I’m the one in charge here. That means no more chasing clients who drain me, no more "just saying yes" because I feel I should, and no more sacrificing my sanity for stuff that doesn’t feel good.
  2. I Deserve Better This might sound harsh, but… I’ve been selling myself short. Again. Undercharging, over-delivering, and convincing myself it’s just "part of the process." It’s not. Boris the cat (business guru that he is) would never settle for less than he deserves. And neither should I.
  3. We’ve Lost the Spark Remember when we first started out? Late nights, wild ideas, the pure excitement of doing something bold? Yeah, we need a bit more of that. Which is why I’m diving into IGNITE!—because if we’re going to make this work, I need a bit of magic, motivation, and mission-led mojo back.
  4. Let’s Get Back on the Same Page We need a plan. Not a massive, complicated 12-tab spreadsheet, but a clear idea of what we’re doing and why. I’m booking a Mission Strategy Call, because a fresh pair of eyes (and some accountability) might be just what we need to stop drifting and start doing.
  5. I Still Believe in Us Despite the chaos, the wobbles, and the overdue emails, I still believe in you. In us. You’re not just a job or a brand—you’re my mission. And I’m not giving up.

Let’s do better together.

With love (and clearer boundaries),
Me.

P.S. If your business has been acting up lately too, maybe it’s time for a little honest chat of your own. Explore The Hub, book a Mission Strategy Call, or check out IGNITE! to rekindle the spark. No therapy couch required!
