Business Growth Without Losing Your Sanity…..

Business Growth Without Losing Your Sanity…..

Sheena Whyatt·15 January 2024

Let’s talk about something revolutionary – saying goodbye to the hustle mode and embracing a saner way to grow your business. I'm about to hand you 5 steps to improve your business growth that won't make you sacrifice your sanity. Intrigued? Let's dive in.

Step 1: Share the Load, Build & Trust Your Team (Even if It's Outsourced)

Enough with the solo act! Whether you're a team of one or a few, your crew is there for a reason. And here's a secret weapon: outsourcing. It's not just about cost efficiency, although that's a big win. It's about flexibility, global talent, and focusing on what you do best – strategic growth. Your team, whether in-house or outsourced, is the backbone of your business. Embrace outsourcing, share the load, and focus your energies on building your business by doing more of what you do best. Outsourcing is one of the very best investments you can make in your business – the benefits of newfound efficiency and flexibility will get that ROI you are looking for. Build a team you can trust, then let them get on with it. USE them. I fell into the trap of not using my fabulous marketing VA, Amanda Roulstone, enough last year. A change in mindset (& a bright pink A5 post it note on my desk that says ‘Use Amanda More!’ helps with that going forward! It also means I can focus on what I want for my business this year. And that rocks.

Step 2: Embrace Tech, Simplify Operations

Now, let's talk tech. Welcome it with open arms because automation tools are about to become your new allies. Picture this: streamlined operations, saved time, and minimized errors. Sounds dreamy, right? With tools like Microsoft 365 Bookings, SocialBee, Trello, and more, you can work smarter, not harder. These are some of the tech tools I couldn’t be without in my business – give them a try:

Mailerlite – my mailing list platform

SMS Reminders: - love this! Sends automated texts to my clients so they don’t forget their sessions.

SocialBee - my favourite social media creation & scheduling platform, it rocks!

QuickBooks - grown up accounting stuff done brilliantly

Starling: great fuss free business banking

Moo: for those small print jobs

Lebara: ditch the contract, save yourself a fortune!

Step 3: Boundaries Matter, Guard Your Time

Your time is as precious as doubloons. Learn the art of saying 'no' more often. It's not about being everywhere; it's about being in the right place at the right time. Guard your time like a treasure chest. And hey, I've got some great tips on setting boundaries with your clients waiting for you in my coaching hub.

Step 4: Prioritize You—Yes, You!

In the grand pursuit of success, don't forget the true gold – you. Carve out time for exercise, meditation, or simply doing things you love. A relaxed mind is a creative mind, and you, my friend, are the captain of this ship. This is often the first thing we forget when we are trying to grow our businesses. Just because someone else tells you that you ‘should/would/could’ do something to grow your business, doesn’t mean you have to. You are the captain of your ship – where do you want it to go? If you aren’t sure, are you putting yourself on the bridge? Or are you being influenced by others who want to steer your ship in a different direction? Working with a coach can help you clarify that & get a clear map of where you want to be. It’s up to you to follow it – and you can’t do that if you are neglecting yourself in the process.

Step 5: Embrace the Pace, Enjoy the Journey

Rome wasn't constructed in a day, and neither should your empire. Cultivate patience, trust the process, and enjoy the journey! Sustainable growth beats rapid burnout any day. Redefine how you think about success – it's not about who hustles more; it's about who balances better. No-one wants their epitaph to read ‘they worked really hard’, do they?! Consistent effort, with clear, motivated goals can produce as much success as long as you are clear about what that looks like to you. Carve out the steps you need to take.
